The Best Spots For Bridal Portraits In Newcastle, NSW.

If you’re looking for Engagement shoot or bridal portrait locations in Newcastle, you’re spoilt for choice! There’s everything from city vibes, to bushland, and of course, the stunning beaches!

This part of the world is our backyard and here are some of our favourite spots to shoot:

Newcastle CBD & Honeysuckle

Newcastle CBD has loads of old buildings with character and colour, as well as the cathedral on top of the hill and The Station, on the corner of Scott & Watt street in Newcastle.

The Station is a great wet weather option, as there’s space under cover and the location has a lot of personality!

You can also wander along the harbour down to the Honeysuckle area, where you’ll find the old wharf buildings, as well as a mini vineyard and other nice spots for photos.

King Edward Park

This beautiful park with views over the coast has so many options for photos. From the rotunda with it’s intricate details, to the long winding road with palms in the background, and the lush green hills. It’s a really nice one to explore and get creative in!

The Bogie Hole Surrounds

Walking down from King Edward park towards the Bogie Hole, you’ll find a lot of cool photo opportunities. Ones with the vast ocean in the background, or, if you’re a little more daring you can head out along certain parts of the cliffs and get epic shots with the waves crashing down below. This last location wouldn’t be ideal for those in big princess dresses and you’ll need bare feet or flat shoes, heels definitely won’t cut it around here! (Just make sure you or your photographer knows where they’re going and be careful!!)

We haven’t yet had a couple want to jump into the Bogie Hole in their wedding attire, but if you’re reading this and you’re game… call us!!!

Newcastle to Merewether Beach

Whether it’s views up over the beaches from Fort Scratchley, or you’re actually down on the sand at one of the stunning sandy beaches across the Newcastle coastline, they’re the perfect location for bridal portraits. Especially if you’re around during Golden Hour, just as the sun sets!

Fernleigh Track

The Fernleigh track is a 15km route from Adamstown - Belmont. The area most people would recognise for photos is the former railway tunnel that connects Newcastle city to Lake Macquarie. The tunnel passes under the Pacific Highway and makes for some cool shots!

Then if you keep wandering along the track you’ll be able to get even more nice images amongst the bushland.
